About Inner Light
A regulation-led C.I.C. rooted in Harrow, built around lived expertise.
Inner Light was founded on a simple conviction — that children cannot participate until they feel safe. That belief did not come from training alone.
Our Founder, Salma, is the parent of a child with complex needs, including global developmental delays and non-verbal communication. That lived experience sits at the centre of every programme Inner Light delivers. It is the reason the work is practical rather than theoretical, and relational rather than prescriptive.
With specialist certifications in children's yoga, trauma-informed practice, and advanced CPD with the National Autistic Society, alongside qualifications in breathwork and an ICF-accredited coaching certification, Salma brings both professional rigour and genuine understanding to every setting she works in.
Inner Light C.I.C. is independently funded by Sport England and the National Lottery Community Fund, certified by Social Enterprise UK (Member No. 17984), and registered as a Community Interest Company in England and Wales.
Our Philosophy
Safety before participation. Always.
Most programmes focus on behaviour management. Inner Light focuses on what happens before behaviour, the nervous system state that determines whether a child can engage, regulate, and connect in the first place.
Every programme is built around a simple framework:
Safety → Regulation → Connection → Participation.
In that order. Without shortcut.
An important distinction
Inner Light does not offer clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic services.
We are not a mental health provider.
Our programmes are regulation-led wellbeing and movement support, designed to complement existing school provision, therapeutic services, and family support without replacing them.
If you are seeking clinical or therapeutic support, we are happy to signpost to appropriate services.
