The Inner Light Method™
Why regulation comes before participation, and what that looks like in practice.
The Framework
Most settings try to manage behaviour directly. Inner Light works upstream of behaviour, addressing the nervous system state that determines whether any strategy can work at all.
When safety is established first, regulation follows. When regulation is consistent, connection becomes possible. When connection is genuine, participation and the behaviour that comes with it, becomes sustainable.
This is not a new idea. It is a consistently underused one.
Three Principles
The body leads the behaviour
Body: Regulation is not achieved through instruction. It is achieved through consistent co-regulatory experience. The adult's nervous system is the first tool.
Technique follows readiness
Body: No strategy works in a dysregulated state. Practitioners learn to read and respond to nervous system signals before applying technique - not instead of it.
Predictability is the intervention
Body: Consistent presence, pacing, and environmental predictability create the conditions for regulation to build. Reliability is not a soft skill. It is the method.
